How to read this page
Every holiday published on this site carries at least one source and the date that source was last checked. This page lists all 95 citations, most recently verified first, drawn straight from the same data that builds the holiday pages.
Those 95 citations resolve to 22 distinct documents published by 14 issuing bodies — the same statute is cited by every holiday it creates, so a document is counted once here and cited many times across the site. Where a holiday is created by statute, the statute is cited directly rather than a secondary summary of it.
The build refuses to publish an entry with no source, or one whose most recent check is more than twelve months old. That is enforced automatically, not by remembering to look.
