The feed address
Copy this address and paste it into your calendar application:
Subscribing is not the same as importing. A subscription keeps checking the feed, so corrections and future years arrive on their own. Downloading the file once and importing it gives you a snapshot that never updates.
How to subscribe
Google Calendar
- Open Google Calendar on a computer — the mobile apps cannot add a subscription.
- In the left sidebar, next to "Other calendars", select the + and choose "From URL".
- Paste the feed address and select "Add calendar".
Apple Calendar
- On a Mac, choose File, then "New Calendar Subscription".
- On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, then Calendar, then Accounts, then "Add Account", then "Other", then "Add Subscribed Calendar".
- Paste the feed address and confirm. Set auto-refresh to daily.
Outlook
- In Outlook on the web, select Calendar, then "Add calendar", then "Subscribe from web".
- Paste the feed address, give the calendar a name, and select Import.
What the feed contains
All 11 federal holidays for each year from 2024 to 2031 — 88 events. Each is an all-day event marked as free rather than busy, so it will not block meeting scheduling.
Where a holiday falls at a weekend, the event is placed on the observed date — the day offices actually close — and the event description notes the date it formally falls on.
Dates are calculated from the statute that defines each holiday rather than copied from another calendar. The methodology page explains how, and what is done to stop the data going stale.
